    Level 1 - Awareness

    This course is suitable for everyone at home or within a workplace.

    The content provides learners with the key knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, have the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.

  • YourNorth Level 2 first aid for mental health

    Level 2 - First Aider

    This course is aimed at those wanting to become a First Aider for Mental Health in the workplace.

    In addition to the Level 1 content, learners will gain key knowledge about the effects of work-related stress, other conditions, drugs and alcohol and use of the First Aid Action Plan.

  • YourNorth Level 2 first aid for mental health

    Level 3 - Supervisor

    This course is aimed at those employed at supervisor or manager level in the workplace.

    In addition to the Level 2 content, this course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions, plus the support and help provided by healthcare professionals.

Level 2: First Aid for Mental Health

This 1-Day course covers the content of the Level 1 course but also expands on the effects of drugs and alcohol, incorporates the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and covers ways in which a positive mental health culture can be supported within a workplace.

Learners undertaking this course will be considered First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact within the workplace to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition.

Building on the Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health this course introduces the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan which allows learners to provide their peers with comprehensive guidance and support for a suspected mental health condition. Learners will be able to provide signposting to professional help and support that person whilst they are receiving professional assistance.

This course also covers the effects of drugs and alcohol and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to assist employers in implementing a positive mental health culture to support employees within a workplace.

• Providing advice and starting a conversation • Stress

• Drugs and alcohol
• First Aid for Mental Health action plan
• First Aid for Mental Health in the workplace

Assessment

The qualification is assessed through both a practical demonstration of the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan and a multiple-choice question paper.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 2 Award in First Aid for Mental Health (RQF). This qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is strongly recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years
