Our First Aid for Mental Health courses are now available online.
These courses are awarded certification by the First Aid Awards Ltd and regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation (SUBJECT TO ASSESSMENT)

Level 1
Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health
This course is suitable for everyone as it provides learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, have the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help.

First Aid for Mental Health
This course provides learners with the knowledge to identify suspected mental health conditions, start a conversation and signpost towards professional help. The effects of drug and alcohol and the First Aid Action plan are included in this course.

Level 3
Supervising First Aid for Mental Health
In addition to the Level 2 content, this course delves into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions, plus the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. This course is aimed at those employed at supervisor or manager level in the workplace.

Course Overview
The distance learning courses are a combination of self-study and webinars. You will be guided by a qualified Trainer/Assessor and you will be provided with our distance learning resources. The courses conclude with an assessed professional discussion via Zoom.
Entry Requirements
The Level 1 & 2 qualifications are available to learners aged 14 years or over. The Level 3 course is age 16 years or over. Learners must have the literacy skills to be able to read and self-learn the reference manual and additional resources.
In addition, the learner will need access to a computer with a reasonable internet connection in order to access the distance learning resources and communicate with the Trainer/Assessor.
Guided Learning
Each qualification has assigned guided learning hours (GLH) which will be delivered via Zoom webinar.
• Level 1 = 2 GLH
• Level 2 = 3 GLH
• Level 3 = 6 GLH

A minimum self study period is recommeded prior to the webinar using the resources we send to you, these include:

Assessment
The qualification is assessed by a professional discussion with the Trainer/Assessor. There is no grading of the assessment; learners pass or are referred.
Self Study
The minimum self study period that is recommended prior to the webinar for each level is:
• Level 1 = 2 hrs self study
• Level 2 = 3 hrs self study
• Level 3 = 7 hrs self study
Certification
Awards in First Aid for Mental Health Level 1, 2 & 3 will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
These qualifications are valid for three years from the date of achievement. The learner will need to complete the full course again to requalify for a further three years.
